Project : SWSOOS - EMT JV Sydney Water Corporation Sewer Fix Program
Project Date : 2005
Project Location : Sydney, Australia
Project Value : 10 million
Project Client : Sydney Water
Silver Raven successfully completed works on Sydney Water’s Sewer Fix program – Southern and Western Suburbs Ocean Outfall System (SWSOOS) as principle subcontractor to EMT JV – a joint-venture between Earth Tech Engineering, McConnell Dowell and Tyco Water. The tunnel rehabilitation project included the following specialised processes covering some 66,000 square metres of concrete walls and infrastructure:
- De-silt and clean out
- Hydroblasting and scarification
- Steel reinforcing reinstatement
- Shotcrete re-lining
- Epoxy coating and re-lining
- Internal expansion joint repairs
- Manhole repairs
- Confined space access
During this project the shotcrete team successfully managed to spray distances up to 500 metres from the pump under Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport. This job also required repair of manholes inside the airport boundary adjacent to runways requiring night work during curfew hours.
The SWSOOS project required Silver Raven to work closely and successfully amongst heavily populated residential communities whilst maintaining high standards of OHS & E policies. Thus, ensuring we are continuously working toward a cleaner and safer environment.
