Project : Prospect Mini Hydro 2009
Project Date : 15 April 2009
Project Location : Sydney, Australia
Project Client : Hannas for Sydney Water

Silver Raven used a combination of specialist services to remove almost 400 cubic metres of heavily reinforced concrete anchor block at Prospect Reservoir.
Machine mounted hydro-demolition along with sawing, coring and hydraulic splitting were used to remove concrete from around one of the two 2.4 Metre diameter pipelines which form a vital part of Sydney’s main water supply. The use of percussive or explosive equipment would have jeopardised the integrity of the second pipeline which shares the same anchor block putting this major water supply system at risk.
A section of the uncovered pipeline was then removed to allow installation of a mini hydro electric station which will take advantage of the water flow through the pipeline to produce electricity.
